Klezmephonic

Kerrytown Concert House, 415 N. 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, MI

I'm looking forward to a little visit to my hometown of Ann Arbor, MI!  While we are there, I'm especially looking forward to playing this show with my sweetie Jennie Lavine.  She's a lovely clarinetist, and she organized this Klezmer ensemble several years back in Ann Arbor.  The band released it's debut album "Ot Azoy" in 2016.  We hope you'll come out for an evening of beautiful music!

Rollicking freylakhs, sweet cradle songs, and hot American vaudeville tunes are brought to life by the Ann Arbor-based band KLEZMEPHONIC.  Their sound stems from the Eastern European Jewish folk music of the 19th and 20th centuries, sprinkled with swing and Roma Gypsy stylings.  The clarinet (Jennie Lavine) and violin (Henrik Karapetyan) sing, wail and moan over the driving, dance-inducing rhythms of bass (Dave Sharp), accordion (Will Cicola), guitar and banjo (Alex Belhaj)
